Notorious cases of corruption and incompetence - MIRON MITREA – “AVIATIA UTILITARA S.A.”

Miron Mitrea, former Minister of Transportation during Nastase Government, is being investigated by the General Attorney’s Office for his involvement in a fraudulent trading of lands in 2004. Namely 2.3 ha of land from Baneasa Airport, assessed later on at 11.5 mill euro, was traded for 2.5 ha of land in Voluntary village, assessed at 10,000 euro. The illegal trade was made despite an irrevocable Court Decision in favor of “Aviatia Utilitara SA” (Baneasa Airport) as rightful owner of the land. Mitrea was found innocent by prosecutors, however the High Court of Cassation and Justice sent the file back for more thorough examinations, with no result so far.
