Members of European Parliament concerned about Bivolaru case
Following the decision by the Swedish Supreme Court to deny the extradition of Gregorian Bivolaru to Romania, considering that Mr Bivolaru "due to his religious views, risks being subjected to persecutions of a severe nature", members of European Parliament are discussing this case at the highest level. MEP Elmar Brok, Chairman of Foreign Affairs Committee, requested Mr. Lazar Comanescu, the Romanian ambassador to the European Union, to provide explanations about the appliance of European standards in the Romanian judicial system.
